Brands We'd Approach For Sponsorship If We Were Planning... A Wellness Event

Looking for sponsors for a wellness event and not sure where to start?

Wellness event sponsorship can be a brilliant fit for brands across activewear, nutrition, beauty, functional drinks and technology. The wellness market is incredibly broad, which means there are plenty of brands with a natural reason to want to get in front of an engaged wellness audience.

But finding potential sponsors isn't simply about compiling a list of wellness brands and firing off the same proposal to all of them.

The real question is: what could your event help that particular brand achieve?

It's a subject especially close to home for us at Events by Ferdinales.

“If you know my history, you'll know I really made my name in wellness events. I was part of the founding team behind Be:FIT London, the first female fitness festival of its kind in Europe, which went on to become a nationwide tour and build a huge community of wellness lovers. I headed up sponsorship, working with hundreds of wellness brands along the way, so I know a thing or two about what makes this market tick.” Chelsea Ferdinales, Founder of Events by Ferdinales

So, if we were putting together a sponsorship strategy for a wellness event today, where would we start?

Here are five categories we'd have firmly on the list.

1. Activewear brands

The opportunity: Movement Partner

The obvious heavy hitters include brands such as Lululemon, Sweaty Betty, TALA and Gymshark. But don't assume that the biggest name automatically makes the best sponsor.

There is a huge ecosystem of emerging activewear businesses looking to increase brand awareness and get their products onto the right people. Instagram, TikTok and even a simple search through activewear hashtags can uncover smaller brands that may be actively looking for opportunities to grow.

What's the angle?

Think beyond putting a logo on a movement area.

Could the brand host a movement session? Gift products to instructors or attendees? Dress the event team? Create an exclusive product experience? Most importantly, the event offers something particularly valuable: direct access to an engaged wellness audience who could realistically wear and buy their products long after the event has finished.

That's the opportunity we'd sell.

2. Functional and wellness drinks

The opportunity: Hydration Partner

TRIP, Karma Drinks, Remedy Kombucha, Hip Pop, London Nootropics, TENZING and DASH Water are just some of the brands operating in a category that lends itself brilliantly to live events.

Why? Because sampling is incredibly powerful when you have the right audience physically in the room.

What's the angle?

Rather than simply asking a drinks brand to supply some cans, we'd build an activation around becoming the event's exclusive Hydration Partner.

Products could be available to attendees throughout the event, incorporated into movement sessions and placed on talk stages. There could also be opportunities for branded hydration stations, sampling moments and social content.

You're giving the brand the opportunity to get its product into people's hands, while associating it with the wider wellness experience. That's considerably more valuable than a logo.

3. Nutrition brands

The opportunity: Nutrition Partner

Think Arla Protein, TREK, Rude Health, Pip & Nut, Alpro and The Collective, alongside the many emerging nutrition brands entering the market. Nutrition naturally lends itself to wellness events because there are opportunities to combine sampling with education.

What's the angle?

Depending on the brand, this could include product sampling, expert talks, workshops, demonstrations or content around areas such as nutrition, performance and gut health.

And here's one of our sponsorship tips worth remembering:

Give your sponsors an opportunity to share their expertise, not just their products.

Many nutrition brands have nutritionists, dietitians or other specialists within their wider teams or networks. Bringing those people into your content programme can give the brand greater authority while simultaneously adding something genuinely useful for your audience.

That is where sponsorship starts becoming a proper partnership.

4. Beauty and self-care brands

The opportunity: Recovery Partner

NEOM Organics, Aromatherapy Associates, Rituals, Bloom and Blossom, UpCircle Beauty and Feather & Down are examples of brands that could naturally sit within the recovery and self-care side of a wellness event.

What's the angle?

This category opens up plenty of possibilities beyond traditional product sampling.

Think treatment experiences, recovery zones, product placement, expert-led sessions and carefully considered products within attendee goodie bags.

The important part is making the activation feel like a natural extension of the event experience rather than a brand being squeezed into a space where it doesn't belong. Done properly, the sponsor enhances the attendee experience while the event gives the brand a relevant environment in which people can actually experience its products.

5. Wellness technology

The opportunity: Wellness Tech Partner

Headspace, Calm, Peloton, Technogym, Oura and Therabody demonstrate just how broad the wellness technology category has become. This is where understanding a potential sponsor's commercial objectives becomes particularly important.

What's the angle?

Tech companies aren't sponsoring events simply because they'd like to support a nice day out.

They may be looking for users, trials, leads, content, brand awareness, product demonstrations or opportunities to introduce their technology to a new audience.

So we'd give them the floor to show people what their technology can actually do.

That could mean live demonstrations, trial areas, recovery experiences, challenges, workshops or opportunities for attendees to interact directly with the product.

Don't just tell attendees about the technology. Let them experience it.

How we'd approach wellness event sponsorship

Having a great list of prospective sponsors is one thing. Convincing them that your event is worth investing in is another.

Successful wellness event sponsorship starts with understanding what a brand wants to achieve, rather than simply deciding what the event organiser wants to sell.

Our sponsorship approach would typically give a prospective partner a clear picture of:

  • the event and its proposition

  • audience demographics

  • expected attendance

  • marketing reach

  • relevant sponsorship opportunities

  • what the brand stands to gain

  • clear investment options

But there is an important distinction here: Brands don't buy sponsorship. They buy what sponsorship can achieve.

Depending on the business, that might be audience access, lead generation, content creation, product sampling, brand awareness or community engagement.

So rather than building your sponsorship proposal around “here's what you get for £X”, start with the brand's objectives and work backwards.

What are they trying to achieve?

Which part of your event could help them achieve it?

And what can you create together that benefits the brand, the event and the audience?

A simple sponsorship formula

If all of that feels like a lot to remember, our approach can be distilled into something much simpler:

Your audience + their objectives × value exchange = sponsorship opportunity.

The logo, stand space, social posts and complimentary tickets are the deliverables.

The commercial outcome is the reason a brand should care.

And that difference is often what separates a generic sponsorship proposal from the beginning of a genuinely valuable partnership.

Whether you're exploring wellness event sponsorship or looking for commercial partners in a completely different sector, the principle remains the same: find the overlap between what your audience values and what the brand needs to achieve.
